Most people don’t realize that there is quite a bit of chemistry involved in proper carpet care. The product to be used to remove a stain depends on what the stain is. A skilled Carpet Technician would not use the same product on a wine stain that he or she would use on a coffee stain. The type of fiber the carpet is made of also can play a factor in the success of removing the stain. Stains should be pre-treated with the proper product, and in the proper manner. This is why so many times a customer will experience the re-surfacing of an old stain after having their carpet cleaned. A true Carpet Technician will have attended courses, passed tests and been certified by the IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration Certification). We provide this training for our lead technicians. We use both truck mount and portable machines, so no job is too big or too small. Although we cannot guarantee that every stain will be removed on the first try, we do promise to make every effort to identify the type of stain and treat it appropriately. Most stains will respond to the chemical specific treatment and disappear!
The same is ture for upholstery cleaning as above with carpet cleaning. The chemistry of the stain and the type of material will determine the product used to remove it. As with carpet, upholstery collects dust and allergens over time. Having carpeting and upholstered furniture properly cleaned regularly will also help to eliminate those allergens. This being the case, we will always suggest that a customer have their upholstery cleaned at the same time as their carpeting.
Hard tile flooring looks beautiful, when it is new. Over time, build up of dirt and residue in the nooks and crannies of the uneven surface of the tiles and in the grout can really take away from the appearance. From time to time, these types of floors should be machine scrubbed and rinsed. VCT tile flooring requires a floor finish to make it shine and protect it. Every so often, the old finish should be stripped; and a few new coats of fresh finish applied. Our Floor Care Technicians are well trained and very skilled in this process. In between, the finish can be maintained by machine buffing which will extend the life of your floor finish and keep a consistently clean appearance.
Northeast Building Services can provide both interior and exterior wall cleaning services. Interior wall cleaning can be performed on a larger scale with our Von Shrader wall cleaning machine, which can also be used to clean acoustic tile ceilings. In many cases this can prolong the life of a painted surface, and put off costly re-painting. Exterior walls can be cleaned using a pressure washer. All of these special services are available through our company. For more about pressure washing, see below.
Wood floor care requires a special process. Whether floors need to be sanded and refinished or the finished surface just needs some help to be brought back to life, we would be happy to take a look and provide you with advice, or a quote for our services if you should desire.
To restore the look of all types of exterior surfaces such as siding, brick, driveways or walkways, etc., our company can use a pressure washer to remove mildew and dirt. The exterior of your property is the first thing visitors see and this type of maintenance can keep it looking like new for longer. In New England, where we experience all the seasons at full force, mother nature has a way of leaving her mark behind. Pressure washing can help you fight back. In city locations, where buildings experience not only mother nature’s effects but also the effects of traffic, smog & human polution, a combination of steam cleaning and pressure washing can be used to remove gum, stains and whatever else may be soiling your alleyway, entryway and sidewalk areas.
